Shepherds Tree Game Lodge is situated in the North West Province and is in a malaria free area close to Sun City, is approximately 2.5 hours’ drive from Johannesburg.

The lodge concession was awarded by the North West Parks and Tourism Board within the existing Pilanesberg Game Reserve. The entire lodge lies in an exclusive zone in the south-western portion of the 57,250ha, “Big 5″ and malaria free Reserve. The magnificent main lodge acts as a central gathering point and social environment for all guests as well as the point from which all the activities depart and return. The featured architecture and interior design are the hallmark of the whole lodge, and flawless finishes leave no detail overlooked. The lodge offers commanding views of the distant bushveld amphitheatre and is superbly positioned adjacent to the Pilanesberg Game Reserve’s Wilderness Area, thus offering the opportunity of walking trails in this untouched environment. Guests can enjoy 2 game drives daily which are conducted in the Pilanesberg during the morning and evening when you are guided by your game ranger in an open 10-seater game viewing vehicle.

The game drives are between three and four hours long depending on sighting, with a sundowner stop at sunset and a coffee stop in the morning.

Ivory Tree Game Lodge is situated in the North Eastern region of Pilanesberg National Park, North West Province, close to Sun City and is approximately 2.5 hours drive from Johannesburg  The area offers a Big 5 Game Reserve which is home to, not only Africa’s ‘Big 5’ – lion, elephant, buffalo, black and white rhino and leopard but also cheetah and wild dog, crocodile, hippo, giraffe, zebra, monkey, baboon, warthog and numerous antelope species including waterbuck, springbok, impala, kudu, blesbok, tsessebe, steenbok, eland and wildebeest. In addition to this there are a number of more elusive and less common animals which are occasionally sighted. Pilanesberg National Park boasts over 250 different bird species. The rooms at Ivory Tree Lodge are decorated in earthy tones and have been well co-ordinated, ensuring comfortable seating both indoors and outdoors. Each room includes large comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms with outdoor showers, a mini bar fridge, tea & coffee making facilities, mini safes, air-conditioning and heating systems and a covered patio. The main lodge offers a stunning feature pool, dining room and boma, conference centre, main reception area, health spa and curio shop.
